Expect Coldplay to be under the music radar for quite a long time. The band announced that they would be taking a three-year break from music activity during their Wednesday, November 21 concert in Brisbane, Australia. Frontman Chris Martin suddenly made the announcement to his concert audience and said that they wanted the night's performance to be their best ever since the group intended to take a long hiatus from music and performing. Huffington Post quoted Martin as saying, "This is the last big show for three years or so...I don't want to stop." The Australian gig being the last big show might not exactly be accurate. The band still have a couple of U.S. shows coming next month including a New Year's Eve concert co-headlined by hip-hop mogul Jay-Z. The two artists are set to play at New York's Barclay's Center on December 31, and the show will mark Coldplay's return to the U.S. since 2005. Other concert dates will see Coldplay on stage at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on December 29 and at the Barclays Center again on December 30, this time headlining the show solo but with an opening act from R'n'B/pop group Naturally 7. Throughout their 16-year musical career, Coldplay have been able to dish out five studio albums. They have spent most of this year going on an international tour.

Viewers won't see Karlie Kloss walking on the runway wearing Native American-style costume when Victoria's Secret Fashion Show airs December 4 on CBS. The brand has decided to yank portion of the show from broadcast after it offended people, especially Native Americans, by putting an Indian feather headdress on the leopard-print lingerie-clad model. Feather headdresses or war bonnets are a symbol of bravery and usually worn by Indian chiefs and honored warriors, but not women. Those who criticized the use of the headdres claimed the company disrespected the Native American cultures and history. "We are sorry that the Native American headdress replica used in our recent fashion show has upset individuals," Victoria's Secret took to its Facebook page to offer its apology. "We sincerely apologize as we absolutely had no intention to offend anyone. Out of respect, we will not be including the outfit in any broadcast, marketing materials nor in any other way." Kloss has also expressed her regret, tweeting, "I am deeply sorry if what I wore during the VS Show offended anyone. I support VS's decision to remove the outfit from the broadcast." This year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show took place November 7 at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City. Miranda Kerr and Alessandra Ambrosio were among other models supporting the event, while Rihanna and Justin Bieber made performances on the stage. Just days before the show sparked protest for the use of Indian headdress, No Doubt were forced to pull its "Looking Hot" music video since its content and theme, which features a war between Western cowboys and Indians, offended Native Americans.

Less than two years after UFC president Dana White said women would never compete in the UFC, Ronda Rousey will reportedly become the first female fighter to join the organization, per TMZ.com. Rousey, who has become a star in Strikeforce, has won six professional fights, all via her devastating armbar. She won a highly publicized fight against Sarah Kaufman in August after dispatching rival Miesha Tate in March. Rousey's last two fights have truly shown just how dominant she is, and how her trademark armbar is virtually unstoppable. According to the TMZ report, Rousey is expected to defend the women's 135-pound title in 2013. Potential opponents include Tate, Sara McMann and Cris Cyborg. This has to be a thrilling time for the 25-year-old. Her star has grown so quickly since first fighting Ediene Gomes in March 2011. In a year-and-a-half, she has ascended into the spotlight with unbelievable speed. This is also a thrilling time for female MMA fighters. White's stance has changed and Rousey—a controversial figure throughout her Strikeforce career—is the main reason. My guess is that Tate's opinion of Rousey will be altered just a bit knowing that she now has an opportunity to fight in the UFC. Or she will bring that fiery rivalry into the UFC, which is what most of us are hoping for. Watch out world, Ronda Rousey is just getting started.

At the recently concluded Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards, Tionne Watkins a.k.a T-Boz and Rozonda Thomas a.k.a Chilli confirmed that they were busy working on a new TLC full-length album. It would mark their first offering since 2002's "3D" and the untimely passing of third band member Lisa Lopes a.k.a Left Eye. The surviving members of the 90's group made the announcement during the awards night held in Liverpool as they accepted their Outstanding Contribution Honors. The duo also talked about going on tour for the new album and Lopes could be incorporated into the accompanying tour in the form of a hologram. "We're going to still sound like TLC, evolving to whatever level we need to be at this time," explained T-Boz in an interview with BBC. "When that stops working, maybe we'll hang up the towel, but that still works. We have to get into the studio and start feeling how we feel. You have to find yourself first and then you find the path and then you have an album before you know it," added the singer. TLC were one of the best-selling and highly significant hip hop/R'n'B acts of the 1990's. The group was responsible for such big hits like "Waterfalls", "Creep" and "No Scrubs". Their works eventually came to a halt after the untimely death of Lopes in a car accident in Honduras. At present, T-Boz and Chilli are working on a biopic for VH1, taking on producer roles and casting actresses to play themselves.

The numbers are in and as music experts predicted, Taylor Swift, the country girl who writes songs about her romantic relationships, has set records with her newest album "Red" as it hits the 1.2 million sales mark just in its first week. Eminem's "The Eminem Show" was the last album to reach such figure selling 1.322 million in its first week in 2002. According to Nielsen SoundScan, "Red" is the young singer's second consecutive album to reach the 1 million mark in its debut week, joining her 2010 release "Speak Now", which reeled in 1.047 million and making her the only female artist in chart history to have two million-selling debut weeks. The 22-year-old, who will begin touring for the album on March 2013, was overwhelmed and expressed her disbelief in what "Red" has achieved so far. "They just told me Red sold 1.2 million albums first week," the singer tweeted shortly after the final tally was released. "How is this real life?! You are UNREAL. I love you so much. Thanks a million ;)," she added. The incredible album sales of "Red" was also attributed to Swift's savvy marketing deals and unconventional selling locations such as Walgreens and Papa John's Pizza where they bundled the CD with a large pizza for $22 and got 8,000 copies sold. Target also checked in around 396,000 copies when it offered the deluxe edition of "Red" that included a bonus CD containing six additional tracks (three bonus songs and three remixes). Meanwhile, exclusive digital retailer, iTunes, sold nearly 465,000 copies of the album, which is also a record sales week for an iTunes album.
