The numbers are in and as music experts predicted, Taylor Swift, the country girl who writes songs about her romantic relationships, has set records with her newest album "Red" as it hits the 1.2 million sales mark just in its first week. Eminem's "The Eminem Show" was the last album to reach such figure selling 1.322 million in its first week in 2002. According to Nielsen SoundScan, "Red" is the young singer's second consecutive album to reach the 1 million mark in its debut week, joining her 2010 release "Speak Now", which reeled in 1.047 million and making her the only female artist in chart history to have two million-selling debut weeks. The 22-year-old, who will begin touring for the album on March 2013, was overwhelmed and expressed her disbelief in what "Red" has achieved so far. "They just told me Red sold 1.2 million albums first week," the singer tweeted shortly after the final tally was released. "How is this real life?! You are UNREAL. I love you so much. Thanks a million ;)," she added. The incredible album sales of "Red" was also attributed to Swift's savvy marketing deals and unconventional selling locations such as Walgreens and Papa John's Pizza where they bundled the CD with a large pizza for $22 and got 8,000 copies sold. Target also checked in around 396,000 copies when it offered the deluxe edition of "Red" that included a bonus CD containing six additional tracks (three bonus songs and three remixes). Meanwhile, exclusive digital retailer, iTunes, sold nearly 465,000 copies of the album, which is also a record sales week for an iTunes album.

Eminem drove fans into a wild state of curiosity as he hinted at plans of releasing a new solo album for 2013. The hint came through unconventional methods with the rapper selling commemorative baseball caps on his online store Monday. Without really making an actual announcement, the "Lose Yourself" rapper prompted speculations whether or not he would be releasing an album next year. The item, tagged as the Eminem Baseball Tribute Champ Hat, sports a backwards E and is patterned after Eminem's beloved American baseball league, the Detroit Tigers. Also printed on the cap's side panel are the lists of landmark dates for the artist's past solo records: 1996, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2009, 2010 and 2013, which suggests that he is ready for a new solo record for that year. No specifics, such as title or release date have been mentioned about the new album. For now, fans only get the baseball cap which runs for $30 and a portion of the sales will go to the Marshall Mathers Foundation, which helps disadvantaged youths in Eminem's home state of Michigan. "I've actually kinda just started [on a new album]," explained Eminem to MTV News last August. "I've been on the move a little bit too, so I've in between things, sneak songs in here and there," he added. If things go as planned, next year's Eminem album will be the rapper's eight studio release and a much-awaited follow up to his 2010 best-selling record "Recovery".

Yessir… A few hours ago it all went down at the Shady 2.0 SXSW Showcase where headliner 50 Cent performed his seminal debut opus Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ in its entirety for the first time since its release almost ten years ago. The set, which was kicked off with an Eminem-assisted performance of “Patiently Waiting,” featured live renditions of ”Many Men (Wish Death),” ”What Up Gangsta,” the classic “In Da Club,” “Back Down,” ”P.I.M.P.,” “Don’t Push Me” and many more from the LP. Always one to put his soliders on, Fif took a little break in his set to allow recent G-Unit signees Precious Paris and Kidd Kidd to rock the mic to the sound of “Do Your Thing,” off Paris’ ”From Paris with Love” mixtape project.
