MTV has pulled the plug on its long-running reality show "America's Best Dance Crew". The Mario Lopez-hosted dancing competition series wrapped up its seventh installment in June this year and will not return for another new season as the network decided not to renew it. "We are grateful to Randy Jackson and Warner Horizon for having brought our audience seven amazing seasons of dance with ABDC," so MTV announces in a statement, "and look forward to more successful and dynamic entertaining collaborations in the future." Launched in 2008, "ABDC" once topped ratings in 12-34 demo for cable channel, but the ratings continuosly declined. Though the show has been canceled, host Lopez won't be left jobless since he recently joined Simon Cowell's "The X Factor (US)" as a co-host while still hosting "Extra". Earlier year, MTV also canceled "Jersey Shore", which is scheduled to air its series finale in December.

"Jersey Shore" has been canceled, but the cast members have signed up to support an MTV telethon. The live one-hour special called "Restore the Shore" will benefit relief efforts in New Jersey, which was recently damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Also featuring other celebrity guests, the fundraiser will encourage viewers to donate to help reconstruct the Seaside Heights boardwalk and support the re-building efforts of businesses and residents in the area. MTV is joining forces with Architecture for Humanity, a non-profit organization that provides design and construction services after natural disasters. "We are doing a live telethon to raise money to help rebuild," so Nicole Polizzi a.k.a. Snooki tweeted about the fundraiser. The mother of one recently also encouraged her fans to donate cleaning supplies, writing, "Help donate cleanin supplies, gloves, brooms, batteries, flashlights 2 help people rebuild their homes on SI u can drop them off@ 401 Guyon ave." The MTV telethon will air live on Thursday, November 15 at 11 P.M. from MTV's Times Square Studio. During and after the event, viewers can donate online or via text message. Previously, NBC held a Hurricane Sandy telethon featuring a host of A-list artists, namely Christina Aguilera, Jon Bon Jovi, Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon and more to help victims of the superstorm. The event raised $23 million.

Ashton Kutcher is the highest-paid man on television, according to Forbes. The 34-year-old, who currently stars as Walden Schmidt on "Two and a Half Men", rules the annual list released by the magazine with an estimated $24 million he made between May 2011 and May 2012. The former "That '70s Show" actortakes over the reign from his "Men" predecessor Charlie Sheen, who earned a whooping $40 million last year. Following his meltdown which cost him the role on the CBS sitcom, the Charlie Goodson of FX's sitcom "Anger Management" is now out of the list. Placing second are Hugh Laurie and Ray Romano who are tied with $18 million. The British thesp earns the money during the final season of "House M.D.", while the comedian earns such big amount mostly through syndication of his hit show "Everybody Loves Raymond" which was canceled in 2005. Trailing behind them are "30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin and "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" actor Mark Harmon who are tied with $15 million apiece. Also making into the list are Tim Allen ($14 million), Jon Cryer ($13 million), Patrick Dempsey ($12 million), Jim Parsons ($8 million), Johnny Galecki ($8 million) and Jason Segel ($8 million).

As just about every cancelled series (and even some of the non-cancelled ones) vows to come back as a movie, one popular property’s actually making a bit of progress. Doug Ellin has revealed that his Entourage screenplay is nearing completion, and by “nearing” we mean “just about at” — Ellin says he plans to have the thing done by Sunday. Those who saw the finale may recall that Entourage ended with a cliffhanger of sorts, as Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) got the call to take over as the CEO of Time Warner. According to Ellin, the Entourage movie will jump forward six months to see Ari settling into his new position as a studio head. But naturally, some things never change: Vince (Adrien Grenier), Drama (Kevin Dillon), E (Kevin Connolly), and Turtle (Jerry Ferrarra) remain close friends, with a steadfast passion for partying. More after the jump. Deadline got the scoop from Ellin himself, as the site discussed the project with the show creator via email. HBO has yet to give the movie a green light, but Ellin says he’s been feeling “a lot of positive energy” surrounding the project: “Everywhere I go, people ask me, ‘Where’s the movie?’” And former viewers aren’t the only ones eager to see the boys make it to the big screen. Ellin says Entourage‘s packaging agent Ari Emanuel and exec producers Mark Wahlberg and Steven Levinson are just as excited to get the wheels turning. Wahlberg in particular has promised “to kill me if I don’t write faster,” Ellin reported. So with Ellin working on page 110 of his script, where do all the main characters stand? “There are interesting developments about Ari as a studio head, and that’s still the first page for me. But foremost is the friendship between the guys who are still hanging out and going to fun parties, and it continues with the same characters,” he explained. That description doesn’t tell us a whole lot about the plotline, but it sounds like Entourage, all right. Ellin also told the site that the movie sequel would feature the same “Hollywood send-ups and snark” that made the show a hit. If that means the film adaptation is turning back toward the sharp satirical humor of the earlier seasons and away from the lazy, self-congratulatory tone that plagued its later ones, I suspect fans will be all for it. Perhaps even the fans who dropped the series from their DVRs once the quality took a dive.

Word is in and it looks like the upcoming sixth season of Jersey Shore will be its last. Those who’ve enjoyed the partying antics of a group of super-tanned Jersey-dwelling friends have one more season to enjoy them, after which you may have to take a trip to Seaside to get your fix of the Shore. MTV made the official announcement today, stating that Season 6 will be the last for Jersey Shore. The reality series, follows a group of self-proclaimed “guidos/guidettes” as they summer together in a house near the beach in Seaside, New Jersey. The series has also featured (most of) the same cast living together in Miami and on vacation in Italy. While I’m sure fans of the series are disappointed to know the show is ending, it’s not all that surprising that the series is coming to a close. It still draws strong ratings for MTV, but the numbers have started to slip. And it’s entirely possible that the cast is ready to move on to other opportunities. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi just had a baby (she’ll be seen pregnant in Season 6). Maybe it’s just time to move on for all of them. Farewell Snooki and JWoww and Situation. Farewell phrases like “DTF” and “GTL” and “grenade.” Farewell drunken shenanigans and fighting caught on video. While Jersey Shore may soon be gone, it will not be forgotten, and something tells me it won’t be long before another guilty-pleasure reality show takes its place. So, while the end is near, there’s still one more season for the series. Here’s what MTV has in store for Jersey Shore fans ahead of the Season 6 premiere, which is set for Thursday, October 4 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
