And the rich get richer. After landing at #15 on their 2011 Hip-Hop Cash Kings list, Forbes is reporting that Nicki Minaj will be the face of the latest Pepsi beverage, “Pop.” “You’ll see the commercial probably in the next two months,” Glu Agency head Derek Jackson tells Forbes. “She’ll be the face of the brand … it’s going to be explosive.” The deal is apparently of the multimillion dollar variety. This is not the first instance of the Glu Agency helping to infuse more cash money into the YMCMB coffers. The agency recently partnered with The Blueprint Group to help launch the DEWeezy campaign, which is a strategic advertising partnership between Lil’ Wayne and Mountain Dew, another PepsiCo brand.

MTV is bringing Hip-Hop to late night. After making millions in the reality TV sector, the network, which was started out promoting artistry, is getting back to its roots by way of the new music and performance show MTV's Hip-Hop POV.

The weekly program will feature a group of influential members in the game giving raw and unfiltered commentary on headline-making topics in Hip-Hop. Leading the pack is Power 105's outspoken radio personality—who's been known to go in on just about anyone in his crosshairs—Charlamagne Tha God, along with Hip-Hop blogger/journalist Sowmya Krishnamurthy, whose work has appeared in XXL Magazine, the Village Voice, and on MTV.com. Also included in the line-up is radio personality Devi Dev who co-hosts Sway in the Morning on Sirius XM, Def Jam VP of A&R Bu Thiam, who has worked with everyone from Rihanna to Lady Gaga, and Amanda Seales  (formerly Amanda Diva). The panelist's will provide commentary during each weekly episode which will also feature a performance by a Hip-Hop artist at its conclusion.

"MTV's Hip-Hop P.O.V is an exciting, new weekly platform that shines the spotlight on the pulse of what's relevant to Hip-Hop fans, giving our audience an authentic perspective on the artists, celebs and topics they love,” said EVP of Music & Talent Strategy, Amy Doyle, in a press release. "With its dominance of the music charts, global impact and cultural influence, we wanted to find a way to harness the passion that MTV viewers have for Hip-Hop culture and provide its latest and greatest stars and personalities with a brand new stage here at MTV."

Produced by Tiffany Lea Williams and Brian Saracusa, the show will premiere April 4 at midnight, following Randy Jackson's America's Best Dance Crew.

While Hip Hop fans are well versed in the art of digging in the crates, or at least, vaguely familiar with the legendary Diggin’ in the Crates Crew, most heads will be shocked to hear that two men, aged 25 and 26, have been arrested for digging up Michael Jackson’s grave, raiding the late King of Pop’s catalogue. (Cue puns/jokes about RZA’s Gravediggaz). A touch over the top, yes; but it remains true – two hackers, James McCormick and James Marks, have been apprehended, after 50,000 plus files went missing from Sony Music’s private database system. Crafty enough to ransack Jackson’s catalogue, the duo were also clumsy enough to leave incriminating evidence, dexterously pointing the finger of blame at themselves. Sony Music released this statement: “We confirmed the breach last May and immediately took steps to secure the site and notify authorities. As a result, two suspects were arrested. There was no consumer data involved in the incident.”
