CAPCOM SET TO RELEASE TWO NEW RESIDENT EVIL GAMES!

Last week we brought you word of an online shooter set in the "Resident Evil" universe that is coming from Capcom. The publisher officially confirmed the game today while also announcing another upcoming release in the series, "Resident Evil: Revelations," which is coming at some point to Nintendo's newly launched 3DS. There's very little information about "Revelations" in the press release, though a full reveal is confirmed to be coming at E3 this summer. The first details on the game emerged earlier this year, with the stunning revelation that this "Resident Evil" game would allow for simultaneous moving andshooting. Upcoming 3DS release "Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D" will include a demo of the game in which players cleanse an ocean liner of zombie-like horrors as Jill Valentine, who is pegged as "one of the full game's characters." Considerably more information is offered on "Operation Raccoon City," though much was also revealed last week. Capcom confirms that "SOCOM: Confrontation" dev Slant Six Games is working on the title, which is set for a "winter" release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The press release re-confirms that the story reinterprets the events of the second and third "Resident Evil" games, with a "triple-threat battle" between an Umbrella Corp. security detail, a U.S. government Special Forces squad and Bio-Organic Weapons, or B.O.W.s in solo and co-op play. The Raccoon City locations should be familiar to fans of the series, who will also have a number of returning character to look forward to. The press release only confirms then-rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy, but as we know from last week's report, he isn't the only one.
