Мишка Holiday 2011 Lookbook [Teaser Video] from Мишка Bloglin on Vimeo.
What do the Holidays mean to you? Perhaps you think of Yuletide carols and the joy of building a snowman. Maybe for some it brings to mind memories of ignoring your bizarre uncle while seated around a table full of slow cooked meats and hearty root vegetables. Statistically speaking, for many of you it unfortunately means moping around in your underwear and compulsively watching A Christmas Story alone. But for us, it means one thing: gifts! So, as usual, like some fucked up skeletal Santa Claus we're almost ready to bequeath to you a bounty you will not soon forget. I am of course talking about our brand spankin' new Holiday 2011 Collection! In a tantalizing, advent calendar type maneuver, here's a little sneak peek to tide you over. But this isn't just some bullshit chalky piece of chocolate shaped like a reindeer. It's a stylish video featuring some of your favorite artists wearing our fresh wares shot by Nick Genova. You may notice the video's beautiful locale. You know how people call Canada "America's Hat?" Well, as you probably know, we fucking love hats! So this year we trucked on up to say yo to our neighbors from the north and hang with some of Toronto's premier musicians. We've got Witch Housers, High Park, House mavens, Azari & III, longtime mopster Damian "Pink Eyes" Abraham from Fucked Up, Zed's Dead, and new Jokers of the Scene project Blank Capsule all rocking our figurative chain. Lemme tell you, this collection is the freshest collection since our last fresh collection. Winter scarves, Death Adder beanies, varsity hoodies, a bevy of flannels, cardigans, toggle coats, and a fucking KRANG Bear Mop shirt. So peep the video, take note of your favorite pieces, and get ready to run over to 350 Broadway, Echo Park, or our Online Store in mid November to snatch them up so you can impress your family members, or freak them out depending on their age and comfortability with the underworld. Shayla Fun Fact: I worked for the Forest Service :) When most people look at me they think I'm a pretty face who gets everything handed to me because of it, NOT TRUE. My face might be pretty but when it's time to get stuff done I do it. I wanted to buy a car in high school so I applied for the YCC with the Forest Service and spent a summer hiking around mountains with a full backpack, clearing trails, and cleaning up camp sites. Since I'm from Montana I also split wood, start a fire during the winter (not sure if you know but it gets COLD here), and lets face it a girls gotta eat so I cook too... still haven't learned to use a chainsaw tho :) You might think I'm easy on the eyes, but don't let it fool you. I'm from Montana and out here we aren't afraid to actually work somewhere besides the mall.

Sony annoucned this week that their MMO DC Universe Online will become free to play and download coming this October. Check out the press release below:
SAN DIEGO – September 19, 2011 – Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) today announced a new free-to-play business model for its popular massively multiplayer online (MMO) game DC Universe Online (DCUO) — where players have the freedom to become legendary fighting alongside DC Comics icons like Superman, Batman and The Jokerin an ever-evolving online action adventure that has already logged more than 42 million hours of super-powered gameplay action by players since its launch earlier this year.
Beginning late October, players will be able to download and access DCUO for free on both the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PC. As part of this transition, SOE is introducing three new access levels to the game: Free, Premium and Legendary. All three levels will provide access to open world gameplay and missions, general game updates and fixes to the game, with each level offering different game options and benefits.
"When we launched DC Universe Online, we introduced a very different brand of massive online game driven by fast action combat to PC and PS3™gamers and with that, we discovered a new type of online gamer," said John Smedley, President, Sony Online Entertainment. "We've listened to our community, and we've determined that the free-to-play model is the best fit for DC Universe Online."
Smedley added, "Our philosophy embraces learning from our experience and as a pioneer in the free-to-play space with proven successful games like Free Realms and Clone Wars Adventures, we believe this new model will expand the DCUO experience and offer more options that cater to every type of player so they can play the game in a way that fits them."
All three levels provide access to the current game, but allow differing tiers of convenience and flexibility. The levels are:
Free: New players will now have access to the current gameplay in DC Universe Online (including Gotham City, Metropolis, and all current raids and alerts), with the ability to create two characters, join a league and many other benefits. Free level players will be able to purchase downloadable game packs/updates, additional character slots, powers and more through microtransactions.
Premium: Any player who has spent at least $5 USD (including former paid subscribers and new players who have purchased $5 of in-game items) will qualify for the Premium access level. Premium level players will have more benefits available to them than the Free level player, including additional character slots, additional inventory slots, and higher cash limits. Downloadable adventure packs, additional character slots, and more can be purchased in-game.
Legendary: Maximum features and benefits are included at this level. Loaded with enhanced additional features, Legendary access will be available for a $14.99 USD monthly fee and includes all DLC packs at no cost, more than 15 character slots, more than 80 inventory slots, the ability to form unrestricted-sized leagues, and many other benefits.
More information on the DCUO free-to-play access levels can be found here: http://www.dcuniverseonline.com/free/ .
DC Universe Online combines immersive environments and fascinating story arcs with fast-paced, physics-based combat, allowing players to pick up buses and other objects in the environment, fly into the air and throw them at enemies; run up the sides of buildings to engage in melee brawls while shooting flames of fire from their hands; or cling to the side of buildings while using a grappling hook to pull flying opponents out of the sky – all while fighting alongside or against the legendary characters of DC Comics and charting their own path to legendary.
DC Universe Online is licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of DC Entertainment. For more information about DC Universe Online, visit www.DCUniverseOnline.com.

Mixing slick fighting with insane cartoon style personas sums up the new 2D fighter from Autumn Games, Skull Girls.
Currently featuring a roster of four characters with the game still in development: there is the hair possessed Filia, the grappler-hat-wearing Cerebella, the reality twisted Peacock, and the recently announced zone poker, Parasoul. Each character's fighting style is designed in collaboration with Fighting Game Tournament Champion Mike Z Zaimont. Filia uses her hair to rapidly strike enemies, Cerebella combines strong close in attacks and grabs to overpower opponents, and Peacock uses a bizarre variety of range moves based off 1940's cartoon gimmicks. Parasoul meanwhile uses zoning projectiles and random soldier assists for a more defensive style of play.
Alex Ahad is still rocking the artwork giving Parasoul an espionage type look and backgrounds are stunningly detailed with shading adjustments on characters based on where light is illuminating from on stages.
According to Zaimont, the online network being applied is based off Good Game, Peace Out which is commonly used by emulated games to run lag free fights. Matches work with three-on-three tag fights similar to Marvel vs. Capcom's assist style of battling. The twist with Skull Girls is rather than just selecting default assist attacks, players can manually edit assists by choosing a move from the character's command list. In addition to the assist customization, each character has a unique tag enterance; instead of just flying in from the top corner of the screen, some characters will drop directly from above or enter from below. Another fighting mechanic is a cancel system for allowing trapped players to escape spammed attacks or possible glitches. Though this burst is meant to stop simple infinites, it does not halt well-executed and non-repetitive combos; it is a precaution against cheap players, but rewards those who properly improve their skills.
Skull Girls is to be released later this year.
