PEYTON MANNING SIGNS WITH BRONCOS FOR $96 MILLION!

Peyton Manning stood next to John Elway, holding up a bright orange jersey with the No. 18 on it. Yes, that could take some getting used to. And now if Manning's surgically repaired neck cooperates, these two quarterbacks - one in the Hall of Fame, the other headed there one day - think they might be taking a similar photo together, only next time they'll be holding a Super Bowl trophy. Manning was introduced as the new quarterback of the Denver Broncos on Tuesday, the four-time MVP taking the spot once held by Elway, who as Broncos vice president engineered the deal to bring the NFL's most sought-after free agent to town. It's a deal that could also mark the end of Tim Tebow's days in Denver - a bold move, for sure, but one Elway was more than willing to take. "Plan B?" he said. "I don't have a Plan B. We're going with Plan A." After his photo op with Elway and owner Pat Bowlen, Manning answered many of the questions that have been bouncing around since March 7, when his old team, the Indianapolis Colts, released the quarterback and set in motion one of the most frenetic free-agent pursuits in history. On the neck injury that kept him off the field through 2011: "I'm not where I want to be. I want to be where I was before I was injured. There's a lot of work to do to get where we want to be from a health standpoint." On his potential role in being the man who could bring about the end of Tebow's popular stay in Denver: "I know what kind of player Tim Tebow is, what kind of person he is, what an awesome year it was. If Tim Tebow is here next year, I'm going to be the best teammate I can be to him. He and I are going to help this team win games. If other opportunities present themselves to him, I'm going to wish him the best." On Elway's role in leading him to choose Denver over other suitors, the most serious of which were the Titans and 49ers: "I'm seeing him as the leader of a franchise. I really liked what he had to say. Everyone knows what kind of competitor he is as a player. I can tell he's just as competitive in this new role. That got me excited." And so, the deal was sealed. Manning has a five-year, $96 million contract and plans to retire in Denver. His familiar No. 18 was actually retired - a tribute to Denver's first quarterback, Frank Tripucka, who was more than happy to let Manning bring it out of mothballs. The Broncos, meanwhile, have some protection in the way the contract was formulated. There's no signing bonus. Manning will get $18 million guaranteed for next season, but must pass a physical before each season, starting in 2013, to get paid. "I don't consider it much of a risk, knowing Peyton Manning," Elway said. "I asked him, `Is there any doubt in your mind that you can't get back to the Peyton Manning we know of?' And he said, `There's no doubt in my mind."' It was 14 years ago that Bowlen stood on the podium in San Diego, lifted the franchise's first Super Bowl trophy and proclaimed: "This one's for John." But this franchise hasn't been anywhere near what it was since Elway retired a year later with a second title in tow. His return to the front office last year set off a whirlwind of activity that landed the Broncos in the playoffs. But Elway has always been in this to win Super Bowls and he's throwing his hat in with Manning, the 50,000-yard passer who redefined the quarterback position through the 2000s, not Tebow - who seems most comfortable carrying and not throwing the ball. "Tim Tebow's a great kid. If I want someone to marry my daughter, it's him," Elway said. "Tim is a great football player, but with the opportunity that presented itself here, we had to take advantage of that." He said no decision has been made on Tebow's future, but he seemed to be preparing the quarterback's fans to say goodbye. "That's the tough part of this business," Elway said. Manning, who turns 36 on Saturday, said he made a quick connection with Elway, who won his two Super Bowls in Denver after his 37th birthday. Since No. 7's retirement, a long string of quarterbacks have come to Denver, trying in vain to replace the unreplaceable. If anyone can get out of that shadow, Manning could be the man. He's got two trips to the Super Bowl and one title, 11 Pro Bowls and was the fastest player to reach 50,000 yards and 4,000 completions. Long known as a master student of the game, there are hours of highlights available that begin with Manning standing at the line of scrimmage, surveying a defense, checking out of a play - or two - then calling the right one and getting the Colts to the end zone. It's expected he'll be able to run his kind of offense in Denver, which reverted to an option-style system to maximize Tebow's potential last year. One other factor in Manning's decision to play outdoors in the Mile High City: The nearly $40 million in salary cap room the Broncos have, putting them in the mix for quality free agents, possibly including Manning's former teammates Jeff Saturday and Dallas Clark. Anything to get a championship or two in the few years he's got left. "I realize I don't have 14 years left, by any means," Manning said. "This isn't something where I'm just building a foundation to do something in two years or three years. This is a `now' situation. We're going to do whatever we can to win right now. That's all I'm thinking about right now." The status of Manning's neck, however, will be an ongoing issue. It's one thing to throw through the entire route tree on a practice field, which he did to pretty much everyone's satisfaction, quite another to take a blindside hit from a 300-pound defender, which hasn't happened since he was surgically repaired. "There's no question I have work to do," Manning said. "I've been very open with the Broncos, really all the teams, about my medical history, about where I am, about how I feel. I really let them tell me. I've put all the cards out on the table, working out for three teams, going through my entire medical history, not just this past year. I couldn't sell myself when it came to that. I had to let them tell me and decide this was something they wanted to do." "There's no question I have work to do," Manning said. "I've been very open with the Broncos, and all the teams about my medical history. I let them tell me. I put all my cards on the table. I couldn't sell myself when it came to that. I had to let them tell me and decide whether this was something they wanted to do."

"FOR THE LOVE OF LIN" 5 POTENTIAL HOOK-UPS FOR JEREMY LIN!

In the movie Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift (No racial point intended) the chracter Han said a famous line when talking about women and moving up the social ladder. “You're moving up in life, you gotta elevate your company.” Jeremy Lin has rose from sleeping on a teammates couch to one of the NBA brightest stars in less than three weeks time. With his new found fame, every single woman in America has had a bad case of Linsanity lead by Kim Kardashain which he has denied that he was dating. This got us thinking who would actually have a shot at Linsanity? We've came up with five beautiful women who would seem to actually have a shot at Jeremy Lin and maybe even more. Kaboom! Magazine.com presents “For the Love of Lin” 5 Potential Hook-Ups with Jeremy Lin.

1. Kate Upton

Occupation: Sports Illustrated Cover Model

Her biggest Linsanity-type moment: The youtube video that showed her doing “The Dougie” at a Clippers game, not to mention that she already been linked romantically to Kanye West and Mark Sanchez both she has denied.

Why would she be a good hook up for Jeremy Lin: If anyone has a bigger buzz than Linsanity it's only one person and that person is Kate Upton. Like Lin, Upton came out of no where and caught the world's eye gracing the cover Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition this year. When in New York, Upton always has a place to stay as her older sister has a job with the New York Jets so it shouldn't be a problem for her to go and see Knicks games.

2. Liu Wen

Occupation: Victoria Secret Model

Her biggest Linsanity-type moment: Ranked No. 22 in the AskMen.com 2011 Top 100, Wen also became the first Asian to model for Estee Lauder.

Why would she be a good hook up for Jeremy Lin: Tyra Banks and Chris Webber and Adriana Lima and Marko Jaric have proven that Victoria Secret models and NBA players go hand and hand so why not Jeremy Lin and Liu Wen. Both have a lot in common as both were the first in each other profession. Lin is the first player of Taiwanese decent to play in the NBA, while Wen was the first woman of East Asian decent to be apart of Victoria Secret. Looks alone, Jeremy Lin and Liu Wen would seem to be each other type. If she like christian rap, they're getting married.

3. Zoe Kravitz

Occupation: Actress

Her biggest Linsanity-type moment: Watch season four of Showtime's “Californication”

Why would she be a good hook up for Jeremy Lin: Every guy has that one woman that doesn't look like they would touch them with a ten foot pole, only to fall head over heels madly in love with them and have a roller coaster relationship; For Jeremy Lin we believe that person would be Zoe Kravitz. Kravitz is the daughter of Rock Icon Lenny Kravitz and Crosby kid turned bad girl Lisa Bonet. She been acting ever since she was little but didn't really get noticed until she made a linsanity type performance in the hit X-Men: First Class. Even though they look like complete like opposites, they have two big similarities....both were born in Los Angeles, CA and both now live in NYC.

4. Alex Morgan

Occupation: U.S. Soccer Player

Her biggest Linsanity-type moment: Morgan scored a game winner in the semi-finals of the 2011 world cup and the first goal in the world cup final. After returning home she was the talk of the party during the HBO's “Entourage” final season premiere party.

Why would she be a good hook up for Jeremy Lin: Athletes trend to date athletes so it would only be fitting that Alex Morgan and Jeremy Lin hit it off. It really uncanny how much these two have in common. Both are California natives, both play professional sports in New York, and are the two most searched athletes on google this month. Both also appeared in huge magazines this month as Lin was on the cover of Time Magazine and Morgan appear in a body paint swimsuit for sports illustrated. Lin and Morgan could join a long list of world class athletes getting together the likes of Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi.

5. Chanel Iman

Occupation: Victoria Secret Model

Her biggest Linsanity-type moment: Featured in 2012 VMAN 25 Calender (Miss November).....O yeah she been linked to Kanye West too.

Why would she be a good hook up for Jeremy Lin: She got beauty, brains, and a very good heart Chanel Iman could seem like Jeremy Lin dream girl. Chanel is most known for her ripping the runaway in Victoria Secret lingerie, but she is also quite the entrepreneur and philanthropist. The woman who is a quarter Korean owns a high-end boutique with her lovely mother and is also one of the great celebrity faces for USAID an charitable organization focusing on preventing war in Africa. How could Jeremy Lin not want a woman with a one of a kind face, Jay-Z state of mind, and the heart of a saint?

MANNY PACQUIAO SET TO FIGHT JUNE 9TH AGAINST TIM BRADLEY JR.

  ESPN's Dan Rafael explains:

Manny Pacquiao has agreed to terms to defend his welterweight title against junior welterweight titlist Timothy Bradley Jr. on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Michael Koncz, Pacquiao's adviser, told ESPN.com on Monday.

The Bradley side still needs to finalize its deal with promoter Top Rank.

"From our end, the fight is done," Koncz said. "I just got off the phone with (Top Rank's) Bob Arum and Manny, so we're done. I don't assume there will be a problem from the Bradley side. We came to terms with Top Rank on the fight and Manny has approved everything. This morning I had a number of conversations with Bob negotiating the June 9 fight and I relayed everything to Manny."Top Rank president Todd duBoef told ESPN.com that he is still working to finalize Bradley's end of the deal.

"We are going to be having further conversations with Bradley and his management early this week and hopefully finalize the deal," duBoef said. "But the truth is my (promotional) agreement with Bradley lays out certain parameters for a Pacquiao fight, so there is a framework already."

The hopes for a long-anticipated Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight ended last week when, after the sides once again did not come to terms, Mayweather announced he would challenge junior middleweight titlist Miguel Cotto on May 5. Cotto had also been in the running to face Pacquiao in a rematch, but Pacquiao and Cotto could not agree on the weight for the fight. Pacquiao wanted the 147-pound welterweight limit, which Cotto said was too low for him, and he accepted a deal from Mayweather.

The other names in the running to face Pacquiao in the pay-per-view fight were junior welterweight titlist Lamont Peterson and Juan Manuel Marquez, who is 0-2-1 in three incredibly close and exciting fights with Pacquiao, including a majority decision loss to him in November.

Bradley would move up in weight to challenge Pacquiao for his title.

"We've been talking about this for over a month and we always had a Plan B in case Mayweather didn't happen," Koncz said. "Last time I went to the Philippines, I took Manny tapes of all of the opponents we were talking about and he watched them with his wife, Jinkee. Bradley was one of them, as everybody knows."

There is a chance Marquez will fight Peterson next, with the winner of that bout getting a fall match against Pacquiao if a Mayweather fight still is not made.

Koncz flew to San Antonio last weekend to meet with Arum, who was there promoting Saturday night's Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.-Marco Antonio Rubio middleweight title fight at the Alamodome, about the Bradley fight. Cameron Dunkin, Bradley's co-manager, was also in San Antonio and met with Arum.

Bradley (28-0, 12 KOs), 28, of Palm Springs, Calif., does not have the kind of profile as the other opponents who were in the running, although he is widely considered one of the top 10 fighters in the world even though his most recent fights have not been hits.

Thirteen months ago, he won a sloppy, head butt-induced 10th-round technical decision in a heavily hyped junior welterweight unification fight against Devon Alexander. It did poorly at the gate and did not come close to the ratings expectations HBO had hoped it would achieve, despite spending millions on the fight and its marketing.

Then Bradley rejected a July fight he had called for with Amir Khan to further unify the 140-pound division, even though Khan, who brought far more economic muscle to the fight, offered him a 50-50 deal.

Bradley then split with co-promoters Gary Shaw and Ken Thompson and, despite litigation, signed with Top Rank, knowing a Pacquiao fight was possible.

Top Rank gave Bradley the high-profile co-feature slot on the Pacquiao-Marquez III pay-per-view card in November. Bradley stopped faded former lightweight champion Joel Casamayor in the eighth round of an uncompetitive, foul-filled fight.

But Bradley is in his prime, fast and experienced against good opponents, and he could give 33-year-old Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KOs) a competitive fight.

"Bradley is a young, undefeated fighter who deserves a chance," Koncz said. "Manny is excited. Until we name an opponent, boxing is out of Manny's mind. He's busy working in (the Filipino) congress. But he gets interested in boxing again when he has an opponent and a fight. Now we know we have a date (and) an opponent and he's excited."

Koncz, who lives in Southern California, said he is flying to the Philippines on Tuesday night to meet with Pacquiao and go over logistics for the media tour for the fight.
